Austin knows how to have a good time, and Austin knows how to celebrate its Independent spirit, locally owned businesses and unique qualities. Be sure to check out some of these events going on around town:
Willie Nelson’s 4th of July Picnic
Circuit of The Americas
Grab your friends and head out to Circuit of The Americas for Willie Nelson’s 4th of July Picnic. Every year, Willie brings “Trigger” (his guitar’s pet name) and joins his closest friends to put on a star-studded Fourth of July concert followed by a spectacular firework show. This year, he will be joined by Sturgill Simpson, The Head and The Heart, Ryan Bingham, Asleep at the Wheel and more.
Austin Symphony H-E-B July 4th Concert & Fireworks
Long Center for the Performing Arts
Join Austin’s largest Independence Day celebration at Auditorium Shores at the Long Center. The Austin Symphony H-E-B July 4th Concert & Fireworks includes patriotic music by the Austin Symphony with a grand finale fireworks display over Lady Bird Lake.
Bob Schneider’s Independence Day Celebration
Nutty Brown Amphitheater
Another fan favorite now in its fourth year, is Bob Schneider’s Independence Day Celebration. This year, Eric Tessmer and Jane Ellen Bryant will be joining him at the Nutty Brown Amphitheater and of course it will be followed by (you guessed it), a firework show!

The 4th at the ABGB
Austin Beer Garden Brewing Co. (ABGB)
The ABGB is celebrating this year with bikes, fireworks and Warren Hood. Enjoy the ABGB’s famous beer and pizza, then head down on a group bike ride to see the fireworks at Austin Symphony’s H-E-B concert and firework show. And show your Go Local card to give 5% of your purchase to the Hell Yes Projects.
A holiday afternoon. Awesome beer and pizza. Two sets from the best… Warren Hood and his band. Then, a big group bike ride to the fireworks to watch them together.
ABGB is teaming up with their Hell Yes Project friends from Ghisallo Cycling Initiative. They’ll chat you up about all the cool stuff they do and then help get us safely down the hill to Town Lake.
The ABGB will be open 12-8p.
– cornhole boards out all afternoon.
– annual watermelon eating contest at 4p.
– Warren Hood making everyone happy at 5p.
– Cutoff Club big group photo at 7:15p.
Want to be in the Cutoff Club? Then, wear your favorite cutoffs and be extra cool to everyone you see wearing cutoffs. Bam, welcome to the club.
Around 7:30ish, saddle up on bikes (maybe with some ABGB crowlers) for the ride to Auditorium Shores.
The Austin Symphony plays at 8:30p. The fireworks are at 9:30p.
Come on over and join us!
Go Local, Go Independent, Go Happy.
